Johnsons Paint Trophy Second Round Draw

Port Vale's only realistic chance of a shot at Wembley this year looked like getting a tough start as the draw for the Second Round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy was made this week. Vale received a bye in the first round, and would of hoped for a home tie in the tough Northern section, where they are in with the big boys such as Leeds United and Huddersfield, but they got a tough away tie at League Two Newcomers Morecambe, manager by former Man Utd favourite Sammy McIlroy. The ties are to be played week commencing October 8th. The full second round draw is as follows.

Northern Section
Wrexham/Macclesfield v Stockport
Carlisle v Chester
Morecambe v Port Vale
Rochdale v Bury
Doncaster v Oldham
Darlington v Leeds
Lincoln City v Hartlepool
Rotherham v Grimsby

Southern Section
Hereford v Yeovil
Bristol Rovers v Bournemouth
Swindon v Cheltenham
Swansea v Wycombe
Milton Keynes Dons v Peterborough
Brighton v Barnet
Leyton Orient v Dagenham & Redbridge
Gillingham v Luton
